Adobe goes H.264

Finally. As much as I like Flash video, its quasi-proprietary nature gets in the way sometimes. Of course, this means that niche Flash plugins like the Wii’s become somewhat pointless – and useless. With luck, this might prompt a round of updates for off-beat platforms.

And maybe leaving out Flash from the iPhone wasn’t a bad idea after all… At least where web video is concerned, Flash has had to catch up.
