This is causing significant pain to a couple of local Mac shops – although it doesn’t affect everyone, I for sure am not upgrading right away… (still running 10.4.9, too).
This forum thread (via Pedro Leite) suggests the fault lies with a Java 6 interaction with shared memory management, and some forum members have fixed it by removing Java 6 from their machines.
