Qt

Qt is the C++ toolkit that underpins KDE, Opie and quite a few standalone applications. It was designed to be cross-platform and provide a uniform abstraction upon which developers could build pretty much all sorts of GUI apps, but suffers from a few minor (and niggling) inconsistencies.
